There have been rumors recently that the governor of Zamfara state Muhammad Bello Matawalle has been planning to join the National ruling party APC.
The state is distracted by the news of his decamping despite so many burning issues bedeviling the state. The state was declared a no-flight zone by the Federal government due to the lingering security issues in the state.
On Monday the APC caretaker committee and some notable APC governors storm the state to express their remorse for the recent inferno that engulfed the central market of the capital city of Zamfara.
The governor has clarified that the APC is using tricks to lure him into its fold despite him not declaring his intention to join the party.
Accordingly when newsmen contacted the Director-General of Press Affairs for the governor and he replied that he is not aware of the governor’s plan to decamp. It is just empty propaganda that should be thrown into a wastebasket, he declared.
