The Member representing Southeast on the board of the Northeast Development Commission and the Chairman Committee on Security, Climate Change and Special intervention on the board, Hon. Sam Onuigbo has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his goodwill for the people of Abia and the South-East region.
Onuigbo, a former House of Representatives Member for Umuahia-Ikwuano Federal Constituency stated that President Tinubu who has proven he has the best interest of Ndigbo at large should be encouraged to do more.
Onuigbo spoke in Umuahia, the state capital, commended President Tinubu for signing the South-East Development Commission (SEDC) bill into law which he described as a “gift to the South-East” that would help repair damages caused by the Nigeria’s Civil War and empower the people through education.
He acknowledged efforts by previous leaders in the region but argued that none had surpassed Tinubu’s achievements who also appointed an Igbo Son a Service Chief, as he praised Tinubu for his efforts in nation-building, urging the people to continue to recognise and encourage his efforts.
The APC chieftain also noted the support given by the President for an Igbo Son to emerge as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative in the person of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, stressing that the recent interview where Kalu called for the President to be recognized for all that his administration has done for Abia and the South East in general shouldn’t be misconstrued.
He also commended the Governor of the state, Dr Alex Otti for working hard to massively develop Abia within one year plus of his administration, in synergy with other government officials across Party lines both at national and state levels including the Deputy Speaker House of Reps, in the overall good of the state.
