In a demonstration of complete acceptance by the people of Enyimba city, the Abia South Council of Traditional Rulers gave Professor Eleazar Uche Ikonne a Chieftaincy title of “The di oha MMA”. Professor Eleazar Uche Ikonne’s campaign hit the business city of Abia South LGA in continuation of its crusade for PDP to send a man who has the experience, the courage, the maturity, the native and emotional intelligence, with a proven track record of getting things done, a man who possesses the much needed administrative prowess, a steady hand, the only man who has effectively worked with young people and understands them, a man who has served as secretary of Abia Elders Council and understands the heartbeat of the elders, a man who has given over 30years of his service solely to Abia State and resides in Abia State; as the standard flagbearer in the 2023 gubernatorial election. Professor Ikonne while addressing his audience told the leaders, stakeholders, and delegates of Abia South that he is bringing an a-never-seen-before infrastructural revolution to the business district of Aba South in consolidation to the so much already done by Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. The expansion of the cosmopolitan city to envelop nearby villages will be a priority under the government of Professor Ikonne. As an astute manager of material and human resources, Professor Ikonne promised to add several more layers of economic activities to Aba manufacturing, which will birth many entrepreneurs, business consultants, financial experts, and other ancillary activities. Manufacturing and economic activities in Aba South will be on the faster lane by exposing their products to more international markets and introducing ICT in marketing to reach more customers worldwide.
Professor Ikonne concluded by confirming that his job in Aba South will be to expand infrastructural development and put Aba South on the faster lane of socioeconomic growth as Dr. Ikpeazu has changed “Aba made”, a hitherto inferior brand into a brand people can proudly identify with and wear as made-in-aba, recovered several roads that were depilated for over thirty years, flood control and erosion remediation. Professor Ikonne will sustain, consolidate and improve on the progress already made in Aba South.
