WAFCON 2022: Super Falcons up against South Africa, Burundi, Bostwana in group C

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will face South Africa, Burundi and Bostwana in Group C of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The draw ceremony took place in Rabat, Morocco on Friday night.

The Super Falcons are firm favourites to qualify from the group with South Africa the only tough opposition.

Randy Waldrum’s side defeated the Bayana Bayana 4-3 on penalties to win the last edition of the competition four years ago in Ghana.

South Africa, however, defeated the Super Falcons 4-2 the last time both teams met at the Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament in Lagos.

Nigeria will be seeking a record-extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.

Hosts Morocco, who are the seeded team in Group A are drawn against Burkina Faso, Senegal and Uganda.

Group B comprises Cameroon, Zambia, Tunisia and Togo.
