We’ve peace of mind – Suarez reacts as Uruguay beats Ghana, eliminated from tournament

Uruguay captain, Luis Suarez has expressed his gratitude for the support his side received during their participation at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Suarez also insisted that Uruguay’s elimination from the World Cup hurts a lot despite their 2-0 victory over Ghana on Friday.

Uruguay was eliminated from the World Cup after beating Ghana 2-0.

They finished in the third position, with the likes of Portugal and South Korea finishing ahead of both Uruguay and Ghana in Group H.

In an emotional Instagram post after the match, Suarez, a former Barcelona and Liverpool attacker, said he and his teammates have peace of mind.

Suarez said: “Saying goodbye to a World Cup hurts a lot, but we have the peace of mind that we leave everything for our country,” he said.

Proud to be Uruguayan although they don’t respect us. Thanks to each of the Uruguayans who supported us in every part of the world!’
