Comrade Samuel Chukwudi Ogbuebule a Youth leader in Ikwuano Local Government Area was angry at the level of work seen on the ground because the road possesses a Death Trap for our people.

The construction is very slow and the level of work seen is not solid compared to the funds awarded the federal government announced for the project.

What happened to the fund the Federal Government approved for the reconstruction of the Umuahia -Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene Road?

In December 2021 it was confirmed by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola in Premium Time news that the funds for the reconstruction of the Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot road have been approved under the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Road Tax Credit Scheme.

Since then till now nothing meaningful has been done by the contractors. the road as we speak is not motorable. Is so pathetic how we got here because the relevant authorities in Ikwuano seem to be mute on the current situation. I urge the Ikwuano local Government Chairman and other relevant authorities to visit the site to find out from the contractors the reason for the sluggish work on site.
