Chairman of Bade Local Government, Sanda Kara-Bade has confirmed that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded around Abasha area of Gashua town killing one person and injuring several others.
On Sunday, a heavy blast sound was heard in Gashua at a popular drinking joint, throwing residents into panic.
After an emergency meeting called by the council boss to appraise the incident, the Chairman revealed that the device may have been planted by terrorists.
It was gathered that personnel of the Police anti-bomb squad arrived the scene on Monday to remove the debris.
According to the Council Chairman, the government will shoulder the hospital expenses of the injured victims.
