Cabinet reshuffle: Gov. Emmanuel to sack anointed successor, five other commissioners

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has concluded plans to relieve six commissioners in his cabinet including Pastor Umo Eno, his preferred successor in 2023 of their duties.

This was even as the governor had already sent the names of their replacement from their local government areas to the State House of Assembly.

From the letter sent by the governor to the House, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Glory Edet, who is aspiring to represent Ini/Ikono Federal Constituency at the National Assembly will be replaced by Offiong S. Offor from the same LGA (Ini).

Engr Cammillus Essien Imoh from Essien Udim, is said to replace Prince Akpabio, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, rumoured to be going for the State House of Assembly

Bassey Okon from Itu, will replace Mr. Akan Okon, former Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Sea, who resigned last week from the state executive council for his governorship ambition.

Enefiok Isaac, from Ikot Ekpene will replace Pastor Sunny Ibout, who resigned together with Akan Okon last week for personal reasons.

Iniobong Ekong from Nsit Ubium, is currently Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters and is likely to replace Pastor Umo Eno, who hails from the same clan with him.

Also Mr Bob Almond Emem from Onna, may replace Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, a senatorial aspirant and immediate past Chief of Staff to the governor who was sacked few weeks ago by the governor for purported incompetence.
