Press Release by Hon Stanley Nwabuisi member Representing Ikwuano State Constituency in the 7th House of Assembly.

I received with rude shock the circumvention of the rule of law and due process that has been perpetrated by the Dr. Alex Otti administration at the 8th Abia State House of Assembly.

I write to condemn in strong terms the despicable activities of the State Governor, The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and the Leadership of the Labour Party who oversaw the execution of such infamy and calumny.

The office of the Majority leader is occupied by the party represented in the highest number at any given convocation of the Assembly. The 8th Assembly which boasts of a superior number of PDP members is expected according to the constitution to produce the Majority leader.

However, as a follow-up of the previous contravention of legislative order and law where a first-timer was selected as Speaker, the Labour Party has usurped the office of the majority leader, using every force, wimp, and guile to execute this unsavory carnage of imposition.

This is indeed a show of forceful subduing of the opposition and an open display of undemocratic intolerance and negligence to the rights and privileges due to other political parties.

This ugly development is unbecoming of a government that has a self-acclaimed image of sanctity and sanity. It is not only undemocratic but non-participatory and non-inclusive in the vision of a better Abia.

I hereby use this means to beckon on the Governor, the Speaker of the 8th Assembly and the Leadership of the Labour to renege on this position of imperialism and Dictatorship.
