Miss Augustina Odor Commends VC for Suspending the Lecturer that Slapped Pregnant Student During World Press Day

Miss Augusta Amarachi Odor has commended Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri for suspending the lecturer for assaulting a pregnant student on campus.

CDA News reports that Miss Augustina Odor a human rights activist commended the Imo State University Vice Chancellor and Management for taking proactive action against such a man for humiliating a pregnant student on campus during the World International Press Day celebration.

She also commended those who made the video go viral to expose the plight of violence against girl children and women on campus.

This suspension will serve as a lesson to other lecturers who enjoy the victimization of students on campus.

Miss Odor thanked the Institution for the immediate suspension of Dr. Desmond Izunwanne, a lecturer in the institution for assaulting a pregnant student is a big plus to checkmating the violence against girl children.

Miss Augustina Odor also commended the Vice Chancellor Prof. Uchefula Chukwumaeze (SAN) and the management for setting up a three-man committee, headed by Prof. Chinyere Ukaga for thorough investigation over the matter and also properly sanctioning the lecturer appropriately.

She thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof. Uchefula Chukwumaeze (SAN) for remaining committed to the fight against all forms of victimization assault, misconduct, and corruption.
