North-East APC Applauds Tinubu’s Choice Of Shettima

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Northeast zone has commended the party’s presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for his choice of running mate from the region.

Senator Kashim Shettima, who hails from Borno State, has been announced as the running mate to the APC presidential candidate.

Though his emergence,was received with mixed feelings due to his religious background and that of principal,but it doesn’t seem to bothered the party’s leadership in the zone.

Describing Tinubu’s choice as the best thing that has happened to the region in recent times, his action, they believed, would attract more supporters for the party, especially from the region.

The region made their position known on Monday, via a statement signed by its National Vice Chairman, Mustapha Salihu.

He said the “choice of Senator Kashim Shettima is undoubtedly in recognition of his stellar track record of competence, integrity and excellence displayed as two-term Governor of Borno State and Senator.”

Shettima’s choice, he noted, “has given the APC North East Zone the added energy to rally our party supporters, members and all stakeholders in the zone towards actualising Tinubu’s presidential bid”.

They region commended Tinubu for once again being a staunch democrat and progressive going by his wide engagement and consultation with stakeholders which paved the way for his eventual choice of Senator Shettima as running mate.

Going from “his days as Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu has always exhibited a knack for assembling the right team to achieve efficient and good governance”.
