Osun governor mourns former ex-military administrator, Colonel Obi

The Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has described the demise of a former military administrator of Osun State, Colonel Anthony Obi as a painful and huge loss to his family and the nation.

Making his thoughts known on Sunday through a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, Governor Oyetola who condoled the family of the late former military administrator, hailed his contributions to Osun State, adding that he was one of the leaders who laid the foundations of the State.

While noting that Colonel Obi’s death was huge and painful, the Osun governor stated that in his lifetime, he was a brave, committed and an experienced military officer who served Nigeria and Osun selflessly and passionately.

Extending his condolences to the family of the late administrator, the Osun helmsman urged them to take solace in the legacies of selflessness, professionalism and service to humanity he left behind.

He prayed for eternal rest for the deceased and also the fortitude to bear the loss by his family, friends and associates.

Obi, who served as the military governor of Osun State between August 1996 and August 1998, died on Saturday, January 1, as announced by his family.
