Seven persons were killed on Sunday in a lone auto crash, which occurred at Otte town on Ogbomoso-Ilorin expressway in Kwara State.

The accident involved a white commercial Mazda bus registered ZUR259XJ with 28 passengers on board.

The lone accident, according to the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Jonathan Owoade, occurred at Otte town at about 0330hours.

Seven persons perished while others sustained injuries.

Cause of the accident was attributed to overloading, overspeeding and burst tyre.

Both injured passengers and those who died in the auto crash were taken to the General Hospital and Gerin-Alimi Hospital, Ilorin while the vehicle involved was handed over to the state traffic ‘A’ Division Police station, in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

The Sector Commander warned the general public to desist from overspeeding and overloading to prevent any of such unfortunate incidents.
