He further stated that his reason for the invitation
ion was to recognize their efforts and appreciate them for contributing and achieving great success by promoting the party
He said, “As a leader who is also a youth, I can not be in this position, then ignore the struggles and hardships that the Youth leaders are facing. Whatever dividends of democracy that is your right will get to you because for political systems to be representative, all parts of society must be included.”
While responding, four youth leaders, representing each clan, spoke in unison, appreciating the leader for his magnanimous gesture towards them. They all agreed that this was the first time a leader of the legislative council will call all Youth Leaders in Ikwuano LGA together under one roof to appreciate them.
They appreciated him that only a true leader will remember the people who are constantly laboring in the trenches, lamenting that it is only during elections that conventional leaders remember that Youth leaders exist in the wards.
While wrapping up responses from the youth leaders, the Youth Leader of Ikwuano LGA, Hon. Paul Nwagbara started what other leaders have said, added that Hon. Obinna Agaodi has shown capacity, transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in his governance.
He said, “What you have done today shows that when you are opportune to be in a higher position, you will do more than these. It is crystal clear that you have understood that to make a difference in the longer term, Youth leaders must be engaged in formal political processes and have a say in formulating today’s and tomorrow’s politics. Inclusive political participation is not only a fundamental political and democratic right, but it is also crucial in building peaceful societies and developing policies that respond to the specific needs of the younger generations.”
He continued, “Hon. Obinna Agaodi, you have done well and today will go down in history as a day in which you broke a palpable record in the political terrain.”
After his speech, Hon. Paul Nwagbara, together with other ward youth leaders passed a Vote of Confidence on Hon. Obinna Agaodi.
While reacting to the Ikwuano Youth leader’s response, Hon. Samson, Godspower Onyedikachi, Hon. Igbokwe Chris Odinakachukwu, Hon. Ugorji Marizu Wisdom and Hon Ezekwesili Okiyi all spoke in one voice, complimenting Hon. Obinna Agaodi’s sagacity and pragmatism in leadership. They also accorded the leader the honor of uniting all the honorable members and making them the best councilors in Abia state, an award that was recently given to them by the State Government.
While reacting to all that have been said, the host and leader of the legislative council, Hon. Obinna Felix Agaodi appreciated all the positive comments made about his disposition towards leadership. He, however, asserted that he remains committed to the development of Ikwuano. He went on to list numerous bills that are now laws that have been beneficial to Ikwuano people, especially the control of scrap buyers, sellers, agents, and dealers in the local government.
