Portugal vs Switzerland: Cristiano Ronaldo demands excellence from teammates

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has urged his teammates to go with everything when they face Switzerland in tonight’s FIFA World Cup round of 16 fixture in Qatar.

Portugal will face Switzerland in the World Cup last-16 for a place in the quarter-final.

Fernando Santos’ side head to the game following a 2-1 defeat to South Korea in their last group game while Switzerland defeated Serbia 3-2.

Ronaldo, who helped Portugal win the 2016 UEFA Euro and the 2019 UEFA Nations League is currently hoping to advance to the last eight of the tournament for just the second time during his international career.

Ahead of the match, the former Manchester United forward posted on their Instagram account:

“Today is for Portugal! For the Portuguese! For us and for ours! Today is for all the dreams we carry in each of us! Let’s go with everything!”

The kick-off time for Portugal vs Switzerland is 8 pm.
